Diamond Flywheels are used with Flexible Shaft Machines and Micro-motors to create extremely high polished grooves or cuts in metal surfaces such as wedding bands. Diamond Flywheels require only a fraction of a second and no hand pressure to produce a brilliant cut. Just a very slight touch is sufficient to produce a smooth cut. If excessive pressure is applied, the diamond in the flywheel may be damaged. Bright cuts are obtained using diamond flywheels, giving you the ability of creating designs at will. Flywheels should only be used with a high speed hand-piece at a minimum required rpm of 30,000 to 35,000 rpm The Shank Size refers to the diameter, usually in millimeters (mm) such as 3 mm or 4 mm, needed to fit your rotary tool. The Angle refers to the angle of the diamond in the head attached to the shank. Some common diamond angle sizes are 90°, 120°, 130°, 140°, 150°. When thinking of the angle, a good way of imagining it is: the diamond culet is sticking out and you are measuring the angle of the culet. The speed of your hand-piece used for diamond flywheels should be 30,000 to 35,000 RPM (Rotations Per Minute) and must remain consistent during operation. The object to be cut should be securely held in a clamp or tool holder. When the diamond flywheel is not in use it is recommended to keep it covered and protected.
